There is no alternative to holding local level elections in April: Koirala faction
KATHMANDU: A faction led by Shekhar Koirala said that there is no alternative to holding local level actions in April.
During a virtual meeting of the Koirala faction held on Monday, leaders said that discussions should be held within the party than with other parties on the issue.
Vice-President Dhan Raj Gurung, General Secretary Gagan Thapa, leaders Ram Sharan Mahat, Arjun Narsingh KC, Bal Bahadur KC, Minendra Rijal and Chandra Bhandari among others attended the meeting.
The meeting made the decision that the party should contest the upcoming elections without forging alliance with other parties, a leader, who attended the meeting, said.
The meeting has also decided to mount pressure on party President Sher Bahadur Deuba to abide by the constitution.
