Govt to shut down Museums in Kathmandu valley from today midnight

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to shut down all the museums of the Kathmandu Valley from today midnight in view of the growing risk of Covid-19. 

A joint meeting of all three Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur held on Thursday made the decision to this effect.

Chief Officer at Hamnumandhoka Durbar Museum Sandeep Khanal said that preparations are being made to close the museum from Saturday.

The National Museum, the Narayanhiti Palace Museum, and the museums in Bhaktapur and Lalitpur will aslo be closed for the public from tonight. 

The museums will be closed for visitors until further notice, according to the statement released by the District Administration Office, Kathmandu.
