Government decides to shut down schools until January 29

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to shut down all the schools until January 29 to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

A meeting of the Covid Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) held on Sunday made the decision to this effect.

CCMC spokesperson Sunita Nepal said that the meeting has decided to recommend the Ministry of Home Affairs to banned gatherings of more than 25 persons.

The meeting has also recommended that the vaccination cards should be made mandatory for the people to enter public places like parks, movie halls, restaurants and shopping malls from January 17.

Similarly, the meeting has urged the political parties not to organise political gatherings.

Likewise, the educational institutions which have made public the examinations schedule can conduct the examinations by maintaining the social distance.
