2 killed, 2 injured in assorted road accidents

KATHMANDU: Two persons died and two other sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Tanahun and Dang on Sunday.

A person died after a jeep he was travelling in met with an accident at Talghare of Byas Municipality-1 of Tanahun this morning.

The identity of the deceased has not been ascertained yet, Inspector at the District Police Office, Tanahun Shivaraj Chhetri said.

The incident occurred when the driver lost control of the  jeep (Ga 3 Cha 3778) heading towards Dumre from Damauli.

The driver, who was critically injured in the accident, was rushed to Damauli Hospital but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, a person died in a motorbike accident near Ghorahi-11, Bukalidanda in Dang. 

Police identified the deceased as Padam Basnet (53), Mukunda Rijal, Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Dang, said. 

The incident occurred when the  motorcycle (Ra 2 Pa 1840) heading towards Ghorahi from Tulsipur collided with a jeep (LuAPa 1256) and a tipper (Na 7 Kha 5312) this morning.  

Critically injured incident, Basnet breathed his last during the course of treatment. 

Similarly, two others were also injured the incident. 

Police have taken the drivers of the jeep and the tipper under custody for investigation. RSS
