4 Nepalis killed in Greece road accident identified

KATHMANDU: Four Nepalis, who were killed in a road accident in Greece, have been identified.

The deceased have been identified as Raju Lama of Bhimeshwor Municipality-6, Dolakha, Ramila Ghale aka Sarmila Tamang of Amachodingmo Rural Municipality-3, Rasuwa, Om Bahadur Thapa of Chiring Rural Municipality-5, Tanahun and Laxman Sapkota of Gauriganga Municipality-4, Kailali.

The incident occurred while they were entering Greece from Turkey in an illegal way.

The Nepali Embassy in Vienna said that the family members identified the bodies through the photos by reaching the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau of the Nepali Police.

Earlier, the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) had kept the photos sent by the Greece police on its website.

Preparations are being made to send the bodies to Nepal.

Two Nepalis, who were injured in the accident, are said to be in normal condition.

Manu Lama of Bhimeshwor Municipality-9, Dolakha and Lokraj Acharya of Gauriganga Municipality-4 of Kailali were injured in the incident.
