Germany provides 4.1 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines to Nepal

KATHMANDU: Germany has provided 4.1 million doses of Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines against Covid-19 to Nepal on Thursday.

German Ambassador to Nepal Stephen Rusek handed over 4,142,250 doses of Modera and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada this morning. The vaccines were provided to Nepal through COVAX.

The government has decided to administer 1.8 million doses of Moderna vaccine between 12 to 18 years of age across the country from December 19.

The government of Germany has also provided 719,650 doses of single-shot John & Johnson vaccine.

Of the 2,176,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine, Nepal received the first consignment today.

Nepal had received 1,965,600 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 on Sunday.
