Over 9,000 kids to be jabbed with Moderna vaccines in Humla

SIMKOT: More than 9,000 children of the age group 12 to 17 will be inoculated with Moderna vaccines against Covid-19 in the Humla district.

It has been decided to administer Moderna vaccines to 9,621 children of that age group in the district.

The first dose of the vaccines would be administered through 100 vaccination centres which have been set up at seven rural municipalities of the district from December 19 to 29, Chief of the Health Service Office, Prem Bahadur Singh said.

He said that the skilled health workers along with the volunteers in the villages will be soon mobilized along with the vaccines for the purpose.

The second dose of this vaccine would be provided from January 16 to 26 at the designated vaccination centres.

However, the children of wards 4, 5 and 6 of Namkha Rural Municipality will not to be jabbed for now as it would be impossible for the health workers to travel to those areas along with the vaccines due to snowfall. They will get the vaccines after the winter is over, Singh said. RSS
