NEPSE closed for Tuesday after 6 percent positive circuit break

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the sole secondary market of the country, has been closed for Tuesday after the trading saw an increase of 6.01 percent. The NEPSE index has reached 2,418.84 points.

The market, which witnessed a decline of 168 points in two days, surged by 137.18 points today.

Murahari Parajuli, spokesperson at the NEPSE, said that the market has been closed for today.

The market witnessed a positive circuit breaker after a long time.

The first circuit breaker was applied for 40 minutes when NEPSE surged by 114.25 points to reach 2395.93 points. In the meantime, a total of 3264358 shares were traded for Rs 1.46 billion.

The market was closed for the rest of the day a few minutes after the trading increased by 6 percent.

Meanwhile, the sensitive index increased by 22.72 percent to close at 460.30 points.
