NC general convention: Voting begins to elect new leadership
KATHMANDU: The voting to elect a new leadership in the ongoing 14th general convention of the grand old party Nepali Congress commenced in the Capital on Monday.
Though the Election Committee had scheduled the election for 8 this morning, the voting was deferred due to the delay in printing the ballot papers.
The voting kicked off after former general secretary and senior leader Kul Bahadur Gurung cast his vote in the election.
The Election Committee has prepared 29 different types of ballot papers. All the ballot papers have been kept in different ballot boxes.
Earlier on Saturday, as many as 548 leaders had filed candidacies for 134 posts. Among them, two leaders, who had filed nominations for office bearers, and 58 leaders, who had filed candidacies for central members, had withdrawn their nominations.
