Lawyers stage protest demanding resignation of Chief Justice Rana (With Photos)

KATHMANDU: Nepal Bar Association(NBA), the umbrella body of lawyers across the country, on Sunday staged a demonstration  demanding resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana.

The lawyers gathered and protested on the premises of the Supreme Court by tying black arm bands.

Former Speaker Damannath Dhungana and former lawmaker Kamal Koirala among others  also took part in the protest programme.

A meeting of the Bar Association held on Monday concluded that the judiciary could not be operated under the leadership of Chief Justice and urged him to tender his resignation immediately.
