NC National Convention reschduled, now to be held from Dec13-16

KATHMANDU: The 14th General Convention of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) which was scheduled for November-end has been rescheduled to December 13- 16 by the Election Committee(EC).

Earlier, the general convention was scheduled to be held from November 25-29 in Kathmandu.

A meeting of the central working committee held yesterday had decided to hold  ward convention in the remaining districts on November 13.

According to Advocate Sita Ram KC, a member of the Central Working Committee of the Nepali Congress(NC), a meeting of NC office bearers on Tuesday tasked the Election Committee to propose a new schedule for the 14th General Convention.

However, a meeting of the Central Committee must be held in order to postpone the General Convention.

Prime Minister and president of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, is preparing to convene a meeting of the Central Committee in a few days to approve the new date of the General Convention.

According to the new schedule proposed by the Election Committee(EC), the municipal convention of the Nepali Congress is being held on November 16.

Similarly, the party has decided to hold its province constituency level convention on November 19, federal electoral district level convention on November 22 and district level convention on November 26.

Likewise, the provincial convention of the Nepali Congress scheduled by the Election Committee will be held on December 2- 3.
