3 killed, 6 injured as jeep veers off road in Gulmi

KATHMANDU: Three persons died and six others sustained injuries in a jeep accident on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Chhetra Bahadur Thapa (70), Radhika Thapa (46) of Jaljale, Musikot Municipality-2 and Sangita Sunar (19) of Chundari, Musikot Municipality-3.

Critically injured in the incident, the trio breathed their last during the course of treatment at the Gulmi Hospital in Tamghas, police said.

The four-wheeler (Lu 1 Ja 4490) was heading towards Tamghas, the district headquarters of Gulmi, from Butwal when the incident occurred at Panchrate in Resunga Municipalities-10 yesterday night.

Among the injured, five have been send to Palpa for further treatment and one is receiving treatment at the Gulmi Hospital.

Police said that the jeep skidded off the road and fell 500 metres down the road.
