Man killed in Rupandehi khukuri attack

RUPANDEHI: A man died in a khukuri attack at Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality of Rupandehi district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Abadhesh Chamar of Susta in Nawalparasi (West). He used to work at a saw mill in ward 3 of the district, Satya Narayan Thapa, spokesperson at the District Police Office, Rupandehi, said.

The incident took place when Rabi Singh, an Indian national, working at the same saw mill, attacked Chamar with a khukuri at 11:00 pm yesterday.

Incapacitated in the incident, Chamar breathed his last on the way to the Lumbini Provincial Hospital.

Similarly, Chamar’s father, Gopi Chand, was also injured in the incident.  He is receiving treatment at the Lumbini Provincial Hospital, police said.

Police said that they are looking into the case.
