Cabinet will be expanded on September 20, claims Dahal

JANAKPURDHAM: CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that the Cabinet will be expanded on September 20  (Monday).
The Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government is facing criticism from all quarters of life for failing to give full shape to his Cabinet even after nearly two months.
Taking to media persons while returning home after attending a programme in Janakpur on Saturday, the Maoist supremo said, “The Cabinet could not be expanded due to technical glitches. The Cabinet will be expanded on Monday.”

He claimed that the five party democratic alliance formed for the federalism, constitution and nation  will always remain intact.

“Conspiracies are being hatched to split the alliance,” the chairman said, adding, “Be positive the alliance will remain intact till the elections.”

Saying that he signed the constitution with a condition to amend it if needed, he said that the current constitution should be amended.
Though the proposal was tabled two times for amendment, he expressed his sadness that the constitution has not been amended yet.
Meanwhile, he accused the then KP Sharma Oli-led government of creating hindrances to endorse the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

“The MCC agreement was made during the government of Sher Bahadaur Deuba. We were also in the government. In the original MCC agreement, there was no provision that it should be endorsed from the Parliament,” he said.

The former Prime Minister said that the Oli-led government brought the provision that the MCC should be endorsed from the Parliament.
The debate on MCC escalated after some of the ministers of the United States said that MCC is a part of Indo-Pacific strategy.
