Covid-19 vaccines confiscated from medical store in Dhanusha

JANAKPURDHAM: Police have recovered Covid-19 vaccines from a medical store in Sahidnagar Municipality of Dhanusha district on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, police confiscated six vials of Covid-19 vaccines from Sahidnagar Municipality-based Shreeram Medical Store in Dhanusha, Mayor Udaya Kumar Barbariya said.

He said that four vials of Vero Cell, one vial of Johson & Johnson and one vial of Astrazeneca vaccine were recovered from the store.

There is a primary health centre near the medical store. Police suspected that the health workers might have sold the vaccines to the medical store.

Efforts are being made to cover up the incident, according to a source.

Inspector Sampati Bhandari of the Area Police Office Yadukuha said that they have called the health workers for interrogation.

DSP Jitendra Basnet said that they arrested the medical store operator for the investigation.

Police said that they are looking into the case.
