CIAA raids Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan

CHITWAN:  The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse and Authority (CIAA) raided Bharatpur Hospital of Chitwan on Thursday.

A team deployed from the Hetauda-based CIAA office under the command of Under-Secretary Bishnu Prasad Sapkota carried out the raid today and confiscated the documents related to the pharmacy.

The anti-corruption watchdog carried out the raid based on complaints that the patients have not been getting even essential medicines from the pharmacy.

A complaint was lodged against the hospital at the CIAA saying that the hospital has been claiming full money from the insurance board even though the patients are struggling to get even essential drugs.

“We have collected the required documents,” Sapkota said, adding, “We will interrogate the officials if need be.”
