“8o percent infected with Delta variant in Nepal last month”

KATHMANDU: The Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) said that out of a total infected with coronavirus in the month of July, 8o percent are found to be infected with the Delta variant.

According to a report issued by the CCMC, among the people infected by the Delta variant of the coronavirus, 97 percent are found to have not received a single dose of vaccine against Covid-19. The report stated that the Delta variant has created risks to young people more than other age groups.

The World Health organisation (WHO) has called the Delta variant of COVID-19 as a variant of concern because of its high transmissibility.

Meanwhile, during a survey carried out in the UK this week, the Delta variant is found to be more contagious than Alpha and Kent.
