3 members of single family commit suicide in Jhapa

JHAPA: Three members of a single family committed suicide at Ramailo Tole at Kankai Municipality-1 in Jhapa district on Monday.

According to Rakesh Thapa, spokesperson at the District Police Office (DPO), Jhapa, Rabin Bishwakarma (40), his spouse Muna Bishwakarma (29) and their eight-month-old daughter Rubina Bishwakarma were found hanging in their house this morning.

Thapa added that Muna was found hanging with a shawl with her daughter.

Locals said that Rabin had gone to Kathmandu a few days ago to go abroad for foreign employment but he returned home after he was tested positive for Covid-19.

Rabin used to work as an agent for a manpower company, according to the locals.

Police said that the reason behind the suicide has not been ascertained yet. Police said that they are looking into the case.
