More than 300,000 doses of Japan-donated AstraZeneca vaccines arrive in Nepal

KATHMANDU: More than 300,000 doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines provided by the government of Japan under the grant assistance have arrived in Nepal on Saturday.

Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Kikuta Yutaka handed over the vaccines to State Minister for Health Umesh Shrestha at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) this morning.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, more than 300,000 doses of vaccines have arrived in Nepal today and remaining around 500,000 doses will arrive tomorrow.

Earlier on July 13, the government of Japan had decided to provide 1.6 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines manufactured in Japan to Nepal through COVAX facility.
