Nepali Congress youth leaders warn of agitation

KATHMANDU : Nepali Congress Youth leaders have warned of staging hunger strike in all the district offices  across the country if the party failed to hold the general convention on time.

Handing over a three-point letter to party President Sher Bahadur Deuba through party’s chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel, they demanded that the party make public the calendar for general convention and re-investigate the membership distributed against the constitution  in the name of integration.

The leaders said that they would be compelled to come up with other stern protest programmes like sit-in and fast-unto-death among others if their demands of reviving the party and democracy are not addressed.

Former vice-president of the Nepal Student Union Dilli Ram Subedi said that they decided to issue a warning after the party tried to delay the convention.
