Education Ministry urged to postpone Grade 12 exams

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health has proposed the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to postpone all the exams of the university including grade 12, citing increasing number of COVID-19 cases.

During a programme organised at the Ministry of Health on Monday, State Minister for Health Umesh Shrestha urged the Ministry of Education to halt all the exams for now.

Shrestha also suggested the Ministry of Education to publish the results on the basis of internal assessment of students.

The Cabinet will made the decision whether to postpone the exams or not.

The Grade 12 exams were scheduled to start from August 15 to September 16.

Earlier, the exams of Grade 12, which was scheduled to start from June 9, was postponed due to the rapid surge in Covid-19 cases.
