Covid-19 third wave prep : Special meeting held

Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has begun preparations for the third wave of Covid-19.

Home Minister, Bal Krishna Khand, has held a special meeting for the pre-preparation of third wave of  Covid-19 and directed for vaccination, holding center and other necessary preparations.

State Minister for Health, Umesh Shrestha, Home Secretary, Maheshwar Neupane, Inspector General of Police, Shailesh Thapa, Inspector General of Armed Police, Shailendra Khanal and Chief of the National Investigation Department(NID) Ganesh Prasad Adhikari were present at the meeting.

“Although COVID control is challenging, it is not impossible if we work in coordination with everyone. Let’s work in a planned manner by giving priority to COVID control, ‘said Home Minister, Khand.

He said that the construction work of the holding center was not satisfactory and directed to work more effectively.
During the meeting, State Minister for Health, Umesh Shrestha, said that a special 100-day plan would be implemented to manage oxygen in all government hospitals and against corona.

We have made necessary arrangements to purchase 4 million Pfizer vaccines. Of that, 1.6 million will come from China and 1.6 million from Japan this week, ”said Shrestha.
