Nepal football team head coach demands probe against ANFA VP, 2 journos

KATHMANDU: Nepal national football team head coach Abdullah Almutairi on Thursday filed an application at the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) demanding investigation against ANFA Vice-President Pankaj Bikram Nembang and two journalists.

He had announced his resignation through a Facebook post on July 25. Almutairi, however, has not submitted his resignation letter at the ANFA office yet.

The issue started after the two journalists of an online portal questioned the head coach about smoking in the public place, which later went viral in the social networking sites.

Earlier, the journalist duo and Vice-President Nembang had also filed an application at the football governing body demanding investigation against the coach, ANFA spokesperson Kiran Rai said. “We will talk about this issue in tomorrow’s meeting,” he added.
