COVID-19 re-emerges with new strain

Ministry of Health recommends to close schools, party palaces and movie halls

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health has recommended the closing of film halls and party palaces and educational institutions saying that a new wave of the COVID virus is in the spread.

Minister for Health and Population Hridayesh Tripathi said the issue would be discussed at a meeting of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC).

Talking to Nepal Press, Minister Tripathi said, “The effect of the new type of UK variant was seen among the youth. We have recommended that schools be closed and that classes can be taken through virtual means. The government is serious about ensuring that children are not at risk. “

Minister Tripathi has said that the situation will be dire again if everyone is not aware of the health standards. It is recommended to close not only schools but also cinema halls and party palaces.
