China announces to provide 300,000 additional doses of vaccine to Nepal 

KATHMANDU: China has announced to provide 800,000 doses of vaccine against COVID-19 to Nepal.

The Chinese Embassy said in a statement on Monday that it would provide additional doses of the vaccine. Earlier, China had announced to provide 500,000 doses of vaccine to Nepal. As per China’s commitment, Nepal will now receive 800,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine.

China has announced that it will provide vaccines produced by Sinopharm. The vaccine has been approved by the government for emergency use, and is said to be 80 percent effective.

Citizens over the age of 55 in Nepal will be vaccinated from 7th March.
