PM hints to build Martyr’s Memorial on Lalita Niwas land

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has indicated that a Martyr’s Memorial will be built on 859732 square ft of the land of the much-talked-about Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar.

This was indicated by the Prime Minister at a program organized at the Martyrs ‘Memorial in Lainchaur on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day.

The Prime Minister said that the current Martyrs’ Memorial was very small and it would be difficult and the general public would not be able to come at the same time to pay homage and tribute to Martyrs.

The Prime Minister said, “This place is too small for the memorial. Therefore, if a foreign guest arrives, there should be a place with ample parking so that it will be easier for them to pay homage to martyrs. It can either be near the Prime Minister’s residence or somewhere near Baluwatar .’

After Oli became the Prime Minister, the government land was brought back after investigating that it was in an individual name. Currently, a case is pending in the special court against the then officials and individuals who took the land in the name of the person.
