Cheers for Cinegoers – Cinemas to be monitored for health and safety
A meeting of the High-Level Committee on Covid Prevention (CCMC) held on Sunday has decided to reopen movie theatres. They decided to reopen the theatres by proposing checks and balances for closing them, if required, as per the District Covid Crisis Management Center.
Announcing the decision, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Mahendra Prasad Guragain said that a proposal would be forwarded, based on the current situation in all the affected areas. He also said the concerned department would regularly monitor the health and safety standards and take action against those who are negligent.
The film hall operators had opened the halls unilaterally since January 25.
