Landslides occur in 7 places from Narayangadh to Kathmandu, 4 vehicles buried, 1 dead

KATHMANDU: One person has died when a truck was buried after a landslide was induced due to incessant rains. Four vehicles have been buried in a landslide at Tigharan mine in Benighat Rorang Village Municipality-10 on Prithvi Highway. 

According to the Provincial Traffic Police Office Ramnagar, only the identity of the truck (Na 8 Kha 4540) has been revealed. The deceased has not been identified yet. 

Vehicles coming from Kathmandu to Mugling and to the capital from east and west have been stopped in Narayangadh due to further landslides and mudslides on the Narayangadh-Mugling road, which has been blocked since Thursday night. There is a long line of freight and passenger vehicles. 

Landslide removal work has not started as the rains have not stopped. The landslide occurred at seven places from Narayangadh to Kathmandu, according to the traffic police. Large landslides have hit five places from Muglin to Narayangadh.

A large landslide has hit Satrakilo, Panchkilo, Charkilo, and Jalbire of Chitwan’s Ichhakamana Municipality-5 and Seti Dobhan of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29.

Similarly, a landslide has blocked the road at Setipul of Gajuri village including Benighat Rorang Village on Prithvi Highway.

A landslide has also blocked the road at Siddhalek Village Municipality-6 Parewatar under the Kalu Pandey Highway connecting Dhading district headquarters.
