Pathao resumes rides after introduction of odd-even vehicle provision

KATHMANDU: The ride-sharing service of Pathao, which was suspended due to the prohibitory orders, was resumed on Tuesday after the government implemented an odd-even system on vehicles from 22nd June.

Asheem Man Singh Basnyat, regional director of Pathao Nepal, said that the ride will be conducted according to the health safety standards set by the government of Nepal. Basnyat advises staying at home following health protocols unless it is important to go out.

He adds, “Pathao can be an easier and safer option for people who don’t have their own vehicle when they have to go out for urgent work as it follows health standards and protocols.”

Pathao Nepal, which started the bike ride-sharing service in Nepal from September 2018,  started the car light (taxi) service from August 2019. In September 2020, Pathao started home delivery service of hotel and restaurant meals and food items.

Recently, Pathao Nepal also started ‘Pathao Bazaar’ by delivering groceries. Home delivery within one hour of ordering, which Pathao has started since 13th June, is in the process of experimentation.
