RSP President Lamichhane sent to jail for judicial custody

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane has been sent to jail for judicial custody.

The District Police Office, Rupandehi sent Lamichhane to jail in Bhairahawa after completing the court process.

District Police Office, Rupandehi SP Ranjit Singh Rathore said that Lamichhane was sent to jail after completing all the court process.

He informed that Lamichhane will be in the prison in Bhairahawa until another order.

The RSP President was arrested following an order of the Butwal bench of the Tulsipur High Court to detain him. He was brought to Bhairahawa by air on Saturday.

Former DIG Chabilal Joshi is also in the Bhairahawa prison who was apprehended in connection to the cooperative fraud case.

Lamichhane was apprehended on Friday night from his house after the Bhuwal High Court overturned the order of the District Court to release him on bail of Rs 10 million.
