Hotel Barahi Kathmandu receives global recognition for sustainability practice
KATHMANDU: Already awarded as the ‘Gold Award for South Asia’s Best New Hotel’ from The South Asia TRavel Awards, ‘Hotel Barahi Kathmandu’ has added another identity as a recipient of world’s popular TOFTiger certification for sustainable practices. Awarded by Travel Operators for Tigers (TOFTiger), the certification was a result of mainly 5-steps practices as judged for around 5 months by international experts, said, Roshan Sapkota, General Manager of the hotel.
The famed sustainable certification will be valid for three years starting from September 2024 to August 2027.
‘The hotel received remarkable scores in four key criteria of TOFTiger’s eco-footprint rating’, says the release, ‘the rating acknowledged the hotel’s moderate environmental impacts while highlighting its effective integration of environmental and social considerations into its operations, along with well-executed decision-making processes and program management.’
Hotel Barahi Kathmandu is a part of nationwide hotel and hospitality network of Barahi Group which includes Barahi Jungle Lodge of Chitwan, Hotel Barahi, Hotel Sarangkot Mountain and Hotel Aabas of Pokhara, among others.
