Parsa police seeks permission to arrest Lamichhane, Rai and Joshi

BIRGUNJ: Parsa police have sought permission from the court to arrest three persons, including former Home Minister and Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane, in the cooperative fraud case.

It has been learnt that Rs 85,84 million was transferred illegally to Gorkha Media Network Pvt. Ltd from Sano Paila Savings and Credit Cooperative in Adarshanagar, Birgunj Metropolitan City-6.

GB Rai is the Chairman of the Cooperative.

SP Kumodh Dhungel of District Police Office, Parsa said that the Parsa police have sought permission to arrest Lamichhane, Rai and former DIG Chabilal Banjade Joshi, managing directors of the Gorkha Media Group, to take the investigation ahead.

Parsa is the fifth district to investigate against them in the cooperative fraud case.

The report of the Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee had pointed out that the funds were transferred from Sano Paila Sahakari to the bank account of Gorkha Media in Global IME Bank.
