Colonel KC dies after being buried by landslide in Sindhupalchowk
SINDHUPALCHOWK: Nepal Army Colonel Milan KC died after being buried by a landslide in Sindhupalchowk district on Saturday.
KC died while rescuing two Korean nationals following a landslide at Sindhu Beach Resort in Chiyane of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-4, Sindhupalchowk.
Two Korean nationals along with KC of Bhimeshwor Municipality, Dolakha had reached the resort on Friday.
A small landslide fell from above the resort while they were sleeping in the resort.
Though KC along with his team reached a safer place, the Korean nationals did not know about the landslide. Later, KC went to rescue them.
In the meantime, a big landslide buried KC, local Shumsher Chhetri informed.
“He had injuries in various parts of the body. When we tried to take him to the hospital, he said that he would walk on his own. After sometime he fell down saying that he felt difficulties in breathing. We tried a lot to save him, but to no avail,” Chhetri said.
He was promoted to the post of Colonel recently.
SP Santosh Khadka of the District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk informed that Colonel KC along with two Korean nationals died in the incident and their bodies have been kept at the Primary Health Center in Bahrabise.
