Maoist Centre Vice-Chair Mahara held in gold smuggling case

DANG: CPN (Maoist Centre) senior Vice-Chairman Krishna Bahadur Mahara has been arrested in connection with a gold smuggling case on Monday.

He was arrested from Rupandehi this morning.

Mahara is being brought to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa on a Yeti Airlines plane.

Police apprehended him after he was found involved in the 60 kg gold smuggling case.

Earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister had directed the police administration to detain the leaders involved in the gold smuggling case.
