PM ‘agrees’ to appoint Rabi Lamichhane as Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister

KATHMANDU: With the change in the coalition, the Rastriya Swatantra Party, the fourth largest party in the Parliament, is preparing to join the government.

According to a source, RSP President Rabi Lamichhane will become the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister if the Cabinet is formed today.

During a discussion held on Sunday, Lamichhane had claimed the Home Ministry.

A source at the RSP said that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had agreed to it.

“We have asked the Home Ministry. We had taken the Home Minister earlier also. It is natural to claim for the Home Ministry,” the source said.

A meeting of the RSP held on Monday morning gave the rights to take all the decision regarding the new coalition to President Lamichhane.
