PM Dahal returns home
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal returned home today after leading the Nepali delegation to the 19th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) held from 19 to 20 January in Kampala, the Republic of Uganda. He had left Kathmandu for Kampala on January 18.
Upon arrival at the VVIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport, Prime Minister Dahal was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Purna Bahadur Khadka, ministers, Government officials, heads of security agencies, representatives of diplomatic missions and party cadres.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by his daughter Ms Ganga Dahal. The Nepali delegation included Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Prakash Saud, Foreign Secretary. Sewa Lamsal and senior officials of the Government of Nepal.
During the summit, the Prime Minister addressed the plenary session of the Summit on the theme ‘Deepening Cooperation for Shared Global Affluence’ on January 19.
In the margins of the Summit, the Prime Minister held bilateral meetings with heads of state, heads of government and other high dignitaries attending the Summit.
Nepal is a founding member of the Non-Aligned Movement and has been actively participating in all NAM Summits since its inception.
