House panel directs PADT to submit documents of Laxmi Pun within three days

KATHMANDU: The parliamentary committee has issued a directive to present the documents submitted by Laxmi Pun while being appointed as the executive director of the Pashupati Area Development Trust within three days.

During a meeting with the officials of the Pashupati Area Development Trust on Thursday, the International Relations and Tourism Committee under the House of Representatives directed the Trust to table the documents submitted by Pun within three days after her appointment received widespread flak.

On the occasion, lawmakers Eknath Dhakal, Shisir Khanal and Dhawal Shumsher Rana among others raised the issue of not meeting the criteria for re-appointment.

Similarly, the Committee has directed the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and the Pashupati Area Development Trust to endorse the master plan of Trust and bring it into implementation at the earliest.

Likewise, the Committee has directed the Pashupati Area Development Trust to provide the detailed information about the agreement signed with the Ananda Hotel Pvt. Ltd within three days.

Pun was appointed as the Executive Director of the Pashupati Area Development Fund on December 20.

A meeting of the PADT Governing Council presided over by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kiranti appointed Pun as the Executive Director of the Trust.
