PM Dahal discusses transitional justice issues with Deuba, Oli
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a meeting with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Prime Minister Dahal held a discussion with Deuba and Oli to forge consensus on transitional justice issues.
It has been said that the meeting zeroed in on finalising the transitional justice bill.
Prime Minister Dahal has been trying to forge consensus in the peace process by meeting UML Chairman Oli.
The UML Chairman, however, has been saying that the peace process could not be taken to a logical conclusion due to Prime Minister Oli not him.
During the visit of United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres to Nepal, he urged the senior leaders of various political parties to complete the remaining tasks of the peace process at the earliest.
Addressing the joint session of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday, he urged the leaders to conclude the remaining works of the peace process by keeping the victims at centre.
The international community has also started mounting pressure on the government to conclude the remaining tasks of the peace process.
