Oli re-elects Home Minister

Badal re-elected Home Minister as UML leader, to be sworn-in today evening

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has decided to re-appoint CPN-UML leader Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal as Home Minister.

Badal is scheduled to be sworn in at Rashtrapati Bhawan at 5 PM today. Press Advisor to the Prime Minister Surya Thapa informed Nepal Press that the oath taking has been scheduled for today.

The CPN Maoist Centre had submitted a written letter for Badal’s post to be vacated after he joined the UML. Badal was elected a member of the National Assembly from the CPN-Maoist Center in 2074 BS. The Parliament Secretariat has informed that Badal’s post had become vacant this morning.

Earlier, the UCPN (M) has vacated four members of the House of Representatives after they joined the UML. Similarly, the posts of UML state assembly members have also been vacated.
