Nembang cremated with state honours (With photos)
KATHMANDU: Constituent Assembly Chairman and CPN-UML leader Subash Nembang has been cremated according to Hindu tradition and with state honours at Pashupati Aryaghat in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli paid their last tributes to late Nembang by draping his body with the national and party flags respectively.
The UML leader was accorded with a guard of honour by a contingent of Nepal Army and Nepal Police before his funeral pyre was lit.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, ministers, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, senior leaders and cadres of various political parties, relatives and well-wishers were present at Aryaghat when the last rites were performed.
Nembang passed away on Tuesday due to a cardiac arrest. He was 71.
The government has announced a public holiday today to mourn his death.
