Leaders throng Chyasal to pay last tributes to Nembang (With photos)

KATHMANDU: Leaders of various political parties including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal paid last tributes to Constitution Assembly Chairman and CPN-UML Vice-Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang.

CPN (Maoist Center) Vice-Chairman and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Vice-Chairman Agni Prasad Sapkota, and General Secretary Dev Gurung among others leaders of the party reached UML’s party headquarters in Chyasal, Lalitpur to pay their last respects to Nembang.

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, senior leader Jhalanath Khanal and Vice-Chairman Rajendra Pandey also paid last tributes to the UML leader.

Similarly, former prime minister Baburam Bhattarai, Communist Party of Nepal General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand and Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Pashupati Shumsher JB Rana among other senior leaders have also reached Chyasal.

Nembang, who suffered a heart attack at his Baluwatar-based residence, breathed his last on the way to the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital on Tuesday.

The government has also decided to cremate him with state honours.

An emergency Cabinet meeting held this morning also decided to give a public holiday on the day of his cremation.
