One arrested for attacking NC Joint General Secretary Yadav with khukuri (With video)

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man for his alleged involvement in attacking Nepali Congress Joint General Secretary Mahendra Yadav with a khukuri on Wednesday.

The suspect has been identified as Shyam Babu Sapkota (47) of Bidur Municipality-7, Nuwakot.

According to the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu spokesperson Kumod Dhungel, Sapkota calls himself an activist.

Sapkota attacked Yadav with a khukuri saying the agent of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

Before attacking with a khukuri, he was listening to the speech of Yadav at the Reporters’ Club.

Leader Yadav has been taken to the Trauma Centre for treatment.
