61 kg gold smuggling case: CIB starts investigation against former Vice-President’s son
KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has started investigation against Dipesh Pun, son of former Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, in the 61 kg gold smuggling case.
According to a source, Pun was dragged into investigation after he was also found involved in the smuggling of gold.
A source at the Home Minister said that Pun was interrogated by calling him in the office of CIB on Sunday.
If his involvement is confirmed in the gold smuggling, he will be arrested and the investigation will be taken ahead, the source said.
Pun is the General Secretary of All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary, student wing of ruling CPN (Maoist Centre).
