Attorney’s office not to charge arrestees in Lalita Niwas land case with organized crime
KATHMANDU: The District Attorney Office, Kathmandu has decided not to charge the arrestees in the Lalita Niwas land grab case with organized crime.
The Office after studying the report submitted by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has decided to register the case only in the government document forgery.
The District Attorney Office, Kathmandu is preparing to file the charge sheet in the Lalita Niwas land grab case today.
Earlier, the CIB had carried out an investigation into government document forgery and organized crime.
Police will decide on the charge after holding a discussion with the District Attorney Office.
Police had opened the file again after apprehending four persons including chairman and managing director of Bhatbhateni Supermarket Min Bahadur Gurung in the Lalita Niwas land grab case on June 27.
The CIB had suggested more than 250 persons should be made defendants in the case.
The corruption case filed by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority against 175 people for transferring more than 175 ropani of government land of Lalita Niwas in the name of individuals is under consideration.
