Let’s put international pressure to restore democracy in Myanmar: Rajendra Kumar KC

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress MP Rajendra Kumar KC has stressed the role of Nepal in increasing international pressure for the restoration of democracy in Myanmar.

Speaking at a  session of the House of Representatives, KC said that Congress was in favour of democracy and peace all over the world.

‘In recent days, the military government in Myanmar has been massacring civilians in demonstrations. I demand an immediate end to such repression and to the reinstatement of the elected government and the release of all prisoners, including Aung San Suu Kyi, “said KC.

Stating that the dream of former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai to supply Melamchi water to the people of Kathmandu has come true, KC said that it was ridiculous for the present government to try to take over the work done for three decades.

MP KC also demanded strict action against the perpetrators of the killing of two Nepali Congress cadres at Balledhura on the border of Baglung and Pyuthan.
