Upendra Yadav elected HoR member from Bara-2

KATHMANDU: Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Chair Upendra Yadav has been elected as the Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Bara-2.

As per the final vote count results, Yadav secured 28, 415 votes while his closest contender Shivachandra Kushwaha of the Janamat Party received 23,334 votes.

Similarly, Purushottam Poudel, a CPN (UML) candidate, secured the third position with 10,216 votes, followed by Ramesh Kharel of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, who received 2,829 votes.

Likewise, Arun Kumar Gyawali of the Aam Janata Party recieved 2,738 votes, Sonalal Saha of Rastriya Prajatantra Party 119 votes, Kamarullah Ansari of Nagarik Unmukti Party 109 votes and Mukti Yadav of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party 60 votes.

A total of 68,887 votes were cast in the constituency.

In the election for the Member of House of Representatives held on November 20, 2022, Yadav lost to Dr. CK Raut, the Chair of Janamat Party, in Saptari-2.

The House of Representatives seat from Bara’s second constituency was left vacant after JSP’s Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, who was elected from this constituency, resigned from the position due to being elected to the post of Vice President.
