Economist Dr Swarnim Wagle quits Nepali Congress

KATHMANDU: Economist Dr Swarnim Wagle of the Nepali Congress (NC) announced quitting the party on Thursday.

Announcing his decision to quit NC through his Facebook today afternoon, Wagle said that all should work together to establish a strong alternative democratic force.

He said, “I will be active in a new public role with the beginning of 2080 BS, carrying the agenda of clean democracy and economic progress.”

It has been learnt that Wagle had sent a message to certain NC leaders about his decision to leave the party.

Wagle is soon expected to join the Rastriya Swatantra Party, it is said.
