CPN (MC) objects to SC’s order to register writs against Dahal
KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has objected to the Supreme Court’s order to its administration to register writs against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Issuing a statement on Sunday, CPN (Maoist Centre) General Secretary Dev Gurung said that the party’s attention has been drawn to the order of the joint bench of Justice Ishwor Khatiwada and Hari Phuyal.
Saying that regressive forces are being active in the writ registered against the Comprehensive Peace Accord, he called on political parties who are in favour of peace process and international community.
Congress Mahasamiti member Jitendra Moktan and Gyanendra Raj Aran among others filed the writ demanding action against Dahal for killing 5, 000 people.
Addressing a programme on January 15, 2020, Dahal had said that he would take the responsibility for the deaths of 5, 000 people out of 17, 000 in the Maoist insurgency.
