Nepal receives 345, 600 doses of Bivalent vaccine

KATHMANDU: Nepal received 345, 600 doses of Bivalent, the new vaccine produced by Pfizer, on Monday.

Surendra Chaurasiya, Chief of Supply Management Division, Department of Health Services, said that the vaccine arrived in Kathmandu at 9 am today.

According to him, the vaccine received through GAVI would be stored at the Department in Teku.

The Bivalent vaccine will be used as the booster dose. This vaccine is considered to be effective against the sub-variants of Omicron.

A total 1.5 million doses of the Bivalent vaccine would be provided to Nepal under the COVAX facility in four phases. RSS
