RSP to field Indira Rana Magar as candidate of HoR Deputy Speaker

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party has decided to field Indira Rana Magar for the post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The Parliamentary Party meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party held on Friday morning made the decision to this effect.

Magar of Jhapa is a lawmaker under the Proportional Representation system.

Earlier on Thursday, Devraj Ghimire of the CPN-UML was elected as the Speaker of the Parliament.

According to a provision of the Constitution, one woman is mandatory for the Speaker/ Deputy Speaker.
